After your wisdom teeth are pulled there are post-surgery holes that food can become trapped in. If food particles get trapped in those holes it can cause for infection. To ensure proper healing make sure the incisions are kept clean at all times. You won’t be able to eat many foods at first, here are some foods that are recommended to eat following your wisdom teeth surgery:

  • Mashed Potatoes– Easy to eat and can be topped with sour cream, gravy or even melted cheese for added flavor.
  • Milkshakes– You can easily eat or drink milkshakes, and they are great choice to have immediately after teeth are removed. Avoid using straws for at least 3 days after wisdom teeth removal.
  • Fruit Smoothies– You can use fresh or frozen fruit, add yogurt and some ice to make for a notorious, easy to drink beverage.
  • Oatmeal– Easy to chew and eat, add mashed bananas or even blueberries for a fresh flavor.
  • Soup– There are many soups you can easily eat that contain cooked vegetables and small chunks of shredded meat.
  • Pasta– There are many pastas you can eat, sometimes pasta can be chewy so make sure to over cook the noodles so they’re easier to eat.
  • Ice Cream- Preferably soft served ice cream or frozen yogurt, the cold temperature will help relieve swelling.
